An HIV and AIDS workplace policy is an important document that acts as guidepost for the development and implementation of HIV and AIDS programmes at the workplace.  MBCA advocates for the development of HIV and AIDS workplace policies and as a starting point, MBCA provides training to private sector companies on how they can develop a policy.

This is a one-day training that targets companies that do not have HIV and AIDS workplace policies. The training is aimed at assisting companies to develop policies that are in line with national and international policies, laws and guidelines related to HIV and AIDS. MBCA also helps the companies in the actual development of the policies to ensure that all the key components and principles are included. To date out of the 73 members of MBCA, 54 have workplace policies and the rest are in the process of developing theirs.

The content for the training includes:

  • Introduction to policy development
  • Policy development process
  • Way forward and plan of action
